Creating a Loop
Creating a Loop in Looplet is quick and easy. Follow this step-by-step guide to get started.
Step 1: Create a New Loop
- Once logged in, click the Create New Loop button
- Fill in the loop details:
- Loop Name: Give your Loop a descriptive name.
- Loop Code: Give your Loop a code. This is the code that others will use to join your Loop. It's also part of the URL.
- Access Control: Choose between Public or Protected.
- Passphrase (optional): Add a passphrase for Protected Loops.
- Description: Briefly describe what this Loop is for. This information is used to customize your chatbot responses.
Step 2: Create your Loop Library
The Loop Library is the content the Looplet AI assistant will use to create notes and answer questions in the Loop.
The AI assistant uses only this information, along with some background knowledge, to answer questions. It does not search the internet or make up information when answering questions.
Upload Files
Start by uploading relevant files:
- Documents (PDF, Word, TXT)
- Spreadsheets and data files (XLS, CSV)
- Presentations (PPT)
Create New Files
Create new text files right in Looplet. You can edit them and save them to your Loop.
Step 3: Create Initial Notes
Add some initial notes to help orient new users:
- Welcome message explaining what kind of information is in the Loop and how to use it
- Schedule overview
- FAQs
- Important links and resources
Add other Notes to your Loop as needed.
Step 4: Customize Your Loop
Choose a Loop icon and color.
Step 5: Test Your Loop
Before inviting others:
- Verify the file uploads worked correctly by viewing uploaded files and spot-checking for accuracy, especially for complex information.
- Test the AI chat functionality by opening the Loop and asking questions.
- Edit files directly in Looplet to improve chatbot performance.
Step 6: Invite Users
Invite your group to your Loop using the Loop Code or the Loop URL.
Tips for Success
- Start Small: Begin with a focused topic or project
- Add Context: Upload relevant files before inviting users
- Set Expectations: Use the Welcome Note to explain the Loop's purpose
- Test First: Always test functionality before sharing with your team
